Metro Cop vs Motorist - #Bloubosrand

South Africa just could not get enough of a feisty Metro Cop vs an arrogant driver today in a video that went viral almost over night.

I don't usually post about scenarios like this but it is a very interesting case indeed.  I happened to watch this video on Facebook last night, it was shared on a friends wall and showed up on my newsfeed. I only hit play because being new to Jozi I was excited I could identify the two street names in the description so I wanted to know, what happened down the road from me?

I played the video automatically assuming it was just another one of those videos where you see your everyday South African altercation, and boy was I wrong.

The video is a lengthy 8.14 minutes long, it depicts a rather irritated motorist who is recording the video - interact with a sarcastic Metro Cop who is issuing him with a ticket.

The man recording the video we find out is Clive Naidoo, as his personal information is recorded in the video you can clearly hear his name, number and address being called out.

The two pass comments back and forth to each other. First with Clive asking the Metro Cop to go faster and when she refuses he whips out a not so nice comment saying he pays her salary because he pays tax and she retaliates with a swift and sharp comeback.

But it doesn't end there and this back and forth goes on for a while with the metro cop blatantly undermining where Clive lives and mocking the fact that he is recording this ordeal by parading around and saying "I've never been on TV before I hope my father sees me."

Well miss Metro Cop I'm sure he did, this video went viral.

If you haven't seen it yet, where have you been and here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C2tu4s9KTQ .

Eyebrows on Fleek

PART 1

Beauty regimes have become more complexed and detailed over the last couple years and more recently perfect eyebrows have been in the limelight. Hastags on instagram may read #eyebrowsonfleek a term used to show off ones perfectly groomed eyebrows.

But where did this term come from and what on earth does on fleek mean (if you aren't a teenage girl it may be hard to understand this at first.) Well a Viner by the name of Peaches Monroe uploaded a video talking about how her eyebrows were on fleek and the term seemed to catch on like wild fire.

Urban Dictionary defines the word fleek, as being on point so ''eyebrows on fleek'' essentially means having well groomed eyebrows which are on point. Peaches isn't the only one to contribute to this eyebrow revolution celebrities like Cara Delevingne is the poster child for perfect thick bold brows.

So how is it that we mere mortals keep up with the eyebrow trends? I started grooming my brows when I was only in grade 12, nothing that was too extensive and I've been doing the same thing for years. It was time to change my routine, but how do you achieve perfect eyebrows without looking like you've taken a black crayon to your face?

This is how I my re-vamped eye brow routine:

ADULT COLOURING BOOK
CREATIVITY

The latest craze that has been trending is Adult colouring books. Yes, now we as adults can finally colour in peace without anyone judging.

We're all familiar with colouring books - as kids a colouring book and a box of crayons could keep us busy for a couple hours which made us happy as well as our parents.

But now colouring books are not just for kids any more sophisticated colouring books have gained popularity with books stores stocking a wide range of them just for us adults. And just cause it's called 'Adult colouring books' doesn't mean it's of the censored nature.

The pages of an adult colouring book are filled with intricate or simple line drawings to colour in as a means of stress relief and art therapy.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E
REVIEW

Once again I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets to the pre-screening of the comedy spy film The Man from U.N.C.L.E a day before it's release in cinemas from Ster-Kinekor in IMAX.

I had seen the trailer for the film a few months ago and it was on my list of up and coming movies to see this year. With other spy themed films out this year there is not much to expect than your basic run of the mill action, gadgets and maybe a little romance but The Man from U.N.C.L.E proved to be an entertaining movie, if you looked away for a second you might miss a key factor.

Docrafts Artiste Dual Tip Brush Markers
Review

I have major love for all things artsy, over the years I've developed a collection of paints, papers and all sorts of craft items. I have two extra large storage boxes of all my art supplies and I am running out of places to put coloured pens and different types of glitter glues.

But when I discover something new it's difficult for me to get it out of my head! While browsing in CNA over the weekend I came across a set of markers I had never seen before and I was in awe!

I always take time out to look at different types of stationary available in stores and when I found myself in CNA on Saturday. After browsing through forest colours, colour pencils and 24 sets of markers I found something quite intrigued.

There was this set of 12 markers by a brand I had never heard of before Docrafts Artiste. What made this different to your average marker was that it had duel tips.

A thicker brush marker at the one end and on the other was a fine point. I thought this was a brilliantly designed marker - I have often done some sort of craft that called for different types of thickness's.

It always annoyed me when I was filling in something with a marker and the size was too big and I would have to manurer the marker, in a way in which I hoped it gave me a thinner stroke.

Well I didn't purchase the markers on the spot but it didn't take long for me to go back to the store the next day to buy them. I got them for around R250.00 at CNA.

GIRL ON THE TRAIN
BOOK REVIEW

It's been a while since I've stayed up all night just to find out what happens next in the new book I'm reading so I was surprised when I picked up Girl On The Train and I could not put it down.

This page turning novel was released on 15 January 2015 by British author Paula  Hawkins. It has held the number one spot on the New York Fiction Best Seller list of 2015 and has been on top of the UK hardback book chart for 20 consecutive weeks.

Girl On The Train has been compared to Gillian Flynns Gone Girl which was one of 2012's best thrillers.

I picked up the book by random after looking at a top 10 list of books to read in July 2015. I had no idea what to expect, not having heard about the book before hand.

What captured my attention at first was the writing style of the author, it was easy to read and my eyes seemed to move across the page so swiftly I had hardly realised I was on chapter 3 by the time I came up for some air. That is what I enjoyed about the book, It drew me in and didn't let go.

Kylie Jenner Nails

My love for pretty nails probably started when I was just a toddler - Watching my mum doing her nails sparked an appetite in me to desire all things pretty, elegantly painted nails being one of them.

I remember being a 4 year old, shakily painting my own nails with the tinkerbell make-up set I received for my birthday. Over the years I got better and thought myself to be a bit of a pro because I could paint both hands neatly without having trouble doing my right hand with my left (I am right handed.)

I love nail polish, and a glossy coat of corals and pinks make me happy. I experimented with nail art from stickers to rhinestones, french manis to bold neons and for my last birthday got a stamping kit from my gran but I had never tried fakes and never really needed to as I had always had nails that were strong and grew fairly quick.

However for the past few months I had problems with breakage not that they were really weak but the fact that I am vigorous when I open a bottle or when I peal off a price tag. So I was dealing with different lengths from filing down chips or cutting off major breakage. This annoyed me to no end so I began looking at alternatives to keeping long pretty nails.

I'm not the greatest fan of the Kardashians but if you aren't living under a rock it's hard to avoid them. Kylie Jenner, has made a few waves in the media with her blue hair and her long nails. I saw a few pictures of her nails and thought they looked good even though she was part of a family famous for the wrong things, her nails weren't half bad so I thought I would look in to them.

Kylie had long acrylic nails shaped in stiletto, so I started reading up on acrylics. I thought to myself I use acrylic paint how bad can acrylic nails be?

  • Global Phone Directory
  • Caller I.D

  • Social Media Integration

Functionality:

If you have ever received a call from an unknown number this app is for you.

Truecaller uses it's global phone directory to store names and numbers. This is a practical application as it  brings up numbers you may not have stored on your phone. Becoming a Dye Hard

Dying ones hair has turned into a means of self expression, gone are the days where people solely use dye to create an illusion of youthfulness by covering up pesky greys. In the world we live in now, going grey is a fashion statement rather than a indication of old age.

So with colourful hair trending at the moment from pastel colours to ombres and now sand art hair that makes you look like Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony, there is so much more that we can experiment with than the traditional blondes, brunettes and jet blacks.

After looking at funky coloured hair for months on Pinterest, I was determined to have pink hair!

Minion Mania!

I was lucky to win tickets to a pre-screening from Edgars Club to one of one of the most anticipated animated movies of 2015, Minions. We were introduced to these yellow, pill shaped banana loving beings in the 2010 Illumination Entertainment film, Despicable Me and met up with them again in 2013 in Despicable Me 2. It wasn't long before these lovable characters got their own movie - You can see the 3 lead Minions auditioning at the end of Despicable Me 2's end credits for the film.

Online Shopping as a South African

Shopping Online  is daunting to most of us cautious South Africans. We are not as fearless as Americans when it comes to the online world. From the endless amount of scams we hear about we are happy to  stay clear of purchasing anything online for fear of being swindled out of our hard earned money.

So here is what I've learnt as an online South African shopper.
